To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
Patient Arrival Policy
For your protection, and that of others, as indicated above, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. Similarly, all cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash. Birds, reptiles, and exotic animals must be in appropriate carriers, cages, or boxes as well.
Drop off Appointments
For your convenience, drop-off' appointments are available. A drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a few of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctor can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, the technician or the doctor will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions or this will be available in written form for you.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date*.......
*These vaccinations must be given by a licensed veterinarian.
Assisting During the Examination
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask that, while you are present during the examination, that you let our staff restrain your pet. This keeps you out of harms way but allows you to talk to your pet and give soothing encouragement.
Possible Contagious Diseases
If your pet possibly has a contagious illness, you may be asked to leave the pet in the car until an examination room is ready. This enables us to minimize the spead of disease to other patients.
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made with Dr. Butler. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash, and personal checks. We also offer CareCredit! This offers great flexibility on payment of veterinary bills and the program is explained on the CARECREDIT page of this web site in the New Patient section. .
Boarding facilities are provided primarily for the pets of our clients. As boarding pets over holidays is in demand, we reserve the space for our clients up to 48 hours before holiday periods. At that point, reservations are available for non-client animals. These animals are subject to the same vaccination requirement as listed above.
Refusal of Service
Dr. Butler reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. While this is rare at Animal Medical Servces, it is often the result of behavior by an individual that is abusive or vulgar. Any concerns or complaints should be taken to Dr. Butler directly and not leveled at any of the staff.
